Me Thinks…
- Its offensive that ppl respond to selected comments on their posts and don’t even bother with acknowledging the other comments.
- A certain person has blocked me on gtalk, though they keep sending me emails saying “oh!how I wish I can get online when u come online. We MUST catch up” . Yeah Rite! Why the effort to pretend I wonder!
- The gossipy neighbor who said “that girl must have committed some sin in her past, that’s why she has a mother like B” is SO out of her mind! N may I add THAT girl is 2 yrs old!!!
- Most times it’s the company that matters and not so much the place
- This world won’t let anyone who chooses a different/ out of “normal” path for their life...to live peacefully. The world doesn’t u’stand that many times it’s not necessarily a ‘chosen’ path. They don’t u’stand its really NOT their business to opine about it!
- Its unfair when one is okay with spending a huge amount simply ‘coz it’s not their money that is being spent.
- Its hard to make good lifelong friends as one grows older
- EVERYONE has an element of selfishness in them and that’s not a bad thing
- Making one u’stand that Religion and God are 2 completely different subjects is a mammoth of a task.
- Job Security is such a far-away dream
- One’s got to be so damn heartless to give family politics more importance than seeing a newborn
- A parent who is a friend to their child is not necessarily a good parent. A friend and a parent, each is a separate role and have separate responsibilities.
- Pen friends are GREAT! A blogger and I have come so far in our friendship without having ever met each other. We can’t imagine a day without mailing/texting each other. We don’t even crave to meet. We are happy with things the way they are. Touchwood!
- That I have a wonderful husband though it’s hard to explain how n why. Touchwood again!

Hi there (Pavi, right?). You know, about the 'friend' vs 'parent' bit. There has to be a little bit of both. Too much of 'parent' isn't fun (from my own memories as the daughter of a rather rigid mum); and too much of 'friend' isn't any good either - kids definitely need somebody in charge to feel secure.
touchwood! :) to all the good things...
as for the negatives... well, people will be people...
yeah, it is very diff to make lasting good friends as we grow up... wonder why...
:(
but that last bullet makes everything else seem trivial doesn't it? :)
Me thinks you're right in almost all the points!
touchwood :)
I agree with almost all the thoughts!
Some people , gah!
:)
i agree with 'everyone has an element of selfishness in them, and it is not a bad thing'
and i find that as i age, i am reluctant to invest in new/close friendships :(
you must feel better after writing this down.
haha.. u thinks a lot!! :) We should catch up online sometime {wink!} Now all I need to do is go block you to get mentioned in your blog? By the way responded to your comment on my blog!! yay!! :P Sorry had to pull your leg!!
hmm...inetresting thots!!
I liked all of them..and especially worth thinking abt the parent and frd one...no one put it that way before...but its actually so true!
i agree with that comment thing..i have stopped stopping by such blogs...
u must really have a grt hubby...goodluck:)
if i had to write a post like that most of my points would be the same...
and yup.. pen friends are great :)
I agree with you on all of them!
And touchwood for the last one! :)
pavi...ur writeups are like a great stress buster in the middle of monotonous life at work :). count me in ur fan club!!
And as always i concur with majority of ur thoughts n views...
about the things that u've mentioned here..
- karma
Nice blog.
Lovely. I loved it and i agree with alll the points.
Pavi,
I agree to almost all except a couple of these which may need rethinking. Well listed anyways.
Take care
this post has given me more food for thought..
btw i always thought that once someone blocks u on gtalk, u cant receive or send them emails...not too sure.but maybe u need to chk on it..for all u know, it might really me a case of wrong timings :)
as for that pesky neighbour who belives in past lives, i really wonder if shes got a perfect life...and perhaps the next time she's caught in some rut, u should remind her of what she said..i think she deserves to have a dose of her own medicine to set the mess in her head straight :)
I agree with mummyjaan on her comment about parenting.
I agree with suma completely on making new friends.
And people responding only to selected comments--Gosh--really rude.And of course there are some who dont bother to respond to comments at all. Delay is ok--but no response?!! Why do these people enable comments--beats me!
Touchwood for all the good things in your life.
Cheers
preeti
@mummyjaan: welcome to my space.yes..i am pavi:)
I u'stand wat ur saying abt how parenting can be boring. the solution is that there should be a change in the way one parents..well no one really "parents" the traditional way anymore..rite?
Mabbe u n i intend the same thing and are just saying it in different words. :)
@rayray: thankee:) .. mabbe coz we b'come more cautious n wary, thanks to previous experiences?
@G: yes..it makes the world a better place to live in :)
@Kiran: :)
@meira:i KNOW! some ppl!
@vinz: :) rite back!
@suma: ya i think we b'com more cautious as we grow older. and ur rite...i felt so much lighter after putting it all down.
@preeti: ahah!no sorry reqd..sounds like u were in a HAPPPY mood..n thats nice!
@Ekta: thanks..n see the dicsussion btw mummyjaan n me about parenting.
@Broca:makes sense. Yes he is nice..most times ;) n at other times hes a regular human:D
@lena :)
@miss m :)thanks!
@karma: fan club??? there is none dear..but thanks, its flattering to know that u think i have one n that u want to be a member:)
@gigi & Aanya: THANK YOU and welcome to my space!
@jack: would have been interesting to hear ur thots on those points that u think differently. pls write them if u find the time.
@ps: like i've responded to mummyjaan...i think what we intend is the same and we just use different words for it.
accrding to me..the way we parent our children is ever-evolving..like it should..n so yes, parents should be more fun and not too strict...n that only means changing the traditional defintion of a parent, it doesnt mean that a parent should play the role of a friend.
ya,i think we b'com too cautious as we grow older..tho when i read ur blog & comments..i feel as if u make new friends very effortlessly even now. :)
n ya tho the ideal scenario is to respond to all comments..i dont get as offended with those who dont respond to comments at all, as long they dont request for ppl to delurk n comment on their space.They write 'coz they like to and leave it upto the readers if they want to comment.its no prerssure.
but when one responds to selected comments..it implies that the blogger is comparing comments with each other and thinks only some of it is worth their time..and that is not a nice thing.

Pavi,
Here are 3 thoughts where I differ a little with you :
It is "GENERALLY" hard to make good lifelong friends as one grows older as it depends upon individuals and it is possible to have good bonding even when one is past prime.
"ALMOST" EVERYONE has an element of selfishness in them and that is not a bad thing as there are some totally selfless persons who are rare commodity and they are called BHONDU OR BHUDDHU.
A parent who is a friend to their child is not necessarily a good parent. A friend and a parent each is a separate role and have separate responsibilities. Here I disagree as I have seen children of parents who were strict or kept distance indulge in unwanted acts on the sly when out of parents reach while on the other hand I found children of parents who were informal or friendly and open to logical discussions refrained willingly to indulge in unwanted acts even when given chance. I do agree with the later part about parent and friend having different responsibilities but a parent should be friendly after certain age and be accessible to children without any fear.
Take care
start early to make lifelong friends, later its difficult :D
Pavi,
It is more than a month now and nothing new from your side. Hope all is fine. Even my reply for our discussion on my post is unreplied. No visit too.
Take care
