Of Relationships in Blogsphere

I’d like to believe that most of us who maintain blogs do so for our love of writing, for reaching out to people, as a medium thru’ which we can share our experiences and feelings, to spread awareness about thingswe know and mabbe to make new friends(tho that can’t be the sole reason).
I personally have come across many kinds of people on blogsphere - some of who I have made nice friends with, some who open up my mind thru’ their writings, some who give me a reason to smile everyday, some for whom I Hope n pray that things get better soon, some who remind me of my teen years and a zillion other things- all positive. Honestly, there are a few I like to build a relationship with out of blogsphere but a few others with whom I want to retain my relationship to within blogsphere.

N I believe that’s what it can be. One can’t love or hate a person with whom they have such limited interaction and exposure. One thing we must all remember is that what we know of a person is just’ thru’ what they write and mabbe their comments. So one can’t afford to get judgmental or make assumptions about a person. It would be incorrect.

I’ve noticed people thrashing others in Blogsphere. Getting abusive. Cursing. All without a Reason. All without any explanation. If one does feel wronged I think they should reach out to the person concerned and try have a conversation instead of lashing out at the person in all blogs. It’s a li’l easy for the rest of us to say “Ignore it” to the victim. Well that’s what one does eventually. But it’s annoying and disturbing to start with .

If I don’t get access to a private blog I should be insane to take offense n start thinking that blog is dedicated to bitching about me! The contents of a private blog are only for the eyes of those who the author has granted access. It is not ethical for this information to be shared with others. That too incorrect information!!!

I always thought that one common trait of everyone in Blogsphere is that we love to write. This joy is taken away when such stuff occurs. This joy is taken away when anonymous commenters leave behind inappropriate messages. I’m forced to write about similar kind of stuff repeatedly ‘coz such incidents keep happening with someone or the other n I don’t want to take a diplomatic stand or keep quiet about this.I want to stand up and say i disapprove of such stuff!!

OMG! wadda co-incidence! recently, i got this really really dirty anonymous comment on one of my posts too!
Didn't delete it. showing that you care for suck down-in-the-dumps stuff is silly to do, i felt.
anyway, yea i totally agree with you, if sumone has a problem with a certain someone, he or she should just have a talk with the other person and tryta sort things out. that's how adults are supposed to behave.

nice post. :)

you know you are right, but i guess you know this :)
Just i wonder why is it that people who hardly know each other make assumptions about other person and do dedicate some space on their blogs to the ones they dont like/hate on a regular basis.
if you dont like someone, you either clear it with them or dont talk about it.
it is the one side, but then there is always the other, if it keeps constantly that someone is abusing you, should you just ignore like everyone says?? For me i would say it didnt work which resulted in some posts i am not proud of but then, i do not regret i have written them either. I would have preferred it could go a different way but it went like it went. I dont say it was good, but i would have preferred other bloggers not to judge me or the other persons involved without knowing anything.
Anyways I am glad i happened to read your post. Great to know that there are people here in Blogsphere who would not just keep silent when they see these things happening but really say something.

agree abt the anony-mouse comments - the way teh spine less ppl takes.. if any oen hv got a problem, let them talk it to the otehr one straight.. thn hiding behind teh anony-mouse and spewing dirt...
i think it is comments more than blogs which helps you to undersatnd a person, but then blogs have their part too...

@ Pavi,

This is a GREAT post reflecting exactly what's on my mind these days.

I liked what Busy Writer said...
"that's how adults should behave".

Sadly, even though some bloggers are legally adults, they lack the emotional intelligence or the tact on how to resolve petty issues. Instead of talking directly to the people they have an issue with, they like to trash them in other people's blogs so as to defame them, putting the other bloggers in a dilemma.

And then there is this other category of people which tries to add fuel to the fire and agitate the angry bloggers even more by egging them on.

I wish people would understand that talking like this in public about others only reflects more about themselves than who they are talking about.

What you say is true .. however, this negativity is inherent in humans in general. You find it the outer world, and you find it here in the blog world.

good one babez! WELL-SAID!

If there was anyone who was abused real badly by anony commentors in Blogville, its me. I dun mean to say I had the cop the most crap but I was cloned, left filth using my Id, my photos stolen and linked to shit sites, 100s of anony abusive comments every single day abt my ethnicity, family, looks, character etc etc which I had to sit n delete for hours. And this went on for abt 2yrs!

Some ppl dont hv a life. Thats it.

*coz such incidents keep happening with someone or the other n I don’t want to take a diplomatic stand or keep quiet about this.I want to stand up and say i disapprove of such stuff!!*

and I so agree.....till you meet a person in person you cant really know anything about them.....

@ Ceedy,

Sometimes even when we meet someone face to face, we don't know how they are. Genuineness and sincerity are traits that are found with quite some difficulty these days. Faking comes quite naturally to some people, whether online or in person.

ceedy said...

@solitaire

I do agree that *Genuineness and sincerity are traits that are found with quite some difficulty these days*

but I guess overtime one learns to discern such people and avoid them...for if you really are smart you can see thru such people wherever you meet them

and sometimes being throughly honest and genuine also is hurtful...depending on who you are interacting with.
if the person is in doldrums then he/she sees this genuineness as ulterior motive...

so bottomline i guess is to interact and find out...

Nice thoughts!
I've personally had the experience of getting abusive comments on my blogs too...

Now on the other hand, when it comes to judging ppl, I guess this is something we all do as human beings - after all even when meeting ppl in person, your first impression goes a long way - even when you don't know them all that well at that point.

btw, nice blog!

Hey Pavi... Very nice insights. I fully endorse ur thoughts.

One thing we must all remember is that what we know of a person is just’ thru’ what they write - Very True...

Hi Pavi.. Thanks for ur comment on my blog... I liked wat u said that sometimes, we too fail to understand people!

You write well, and am glad to have found a nice blogger! I also found your "8 things" blog interesting!

Keep up the good thought! :)

Satish Bolla said...

buddy, am too against anonymous comments. they suck...... sometimes abusive n sometimes loaded with links to viruses....
but private blogs is ok. i've a blogger frnd who's a psychologist and had a blog abt her experiences at work. she kept that blog rpivate b'coz she doesn't want her patients to read it. so as long as the motive is novel, everything is ok. wht do ya say....
btw, i came to know jus now that u too know sneha, the solitaire....(god, everyone around me knows her)

@Ceedy: U alwez find out such things! u have the eyes n ears for it!

@Rahman: Thanks for visiting. Glad u liked the blog.Do keep coming back.
i agree its kinda human to form an opinion based on the 1st impression..but here, in blogsphere..one hardly gets to know each other so well.

@Cm-chap: Thanks :) feel honored!

Pavi!!!! said...

@mez :)Thanks!It becomes boring for readers when i show my wise-ness! thats why i try n hide it ;-)

@Nidhi : Thanks for visiting and thank you so much for ur nice words :)

@Satish: Haha..of crse i know Sol :))who doesn't? ;-)
n yeah i hv nthg agnst private blogs...i just think one shldn't complain when not granted access to a private blog. The blogger may have reasons behind it..

ceedy said...

@pavi
is that a compliment or derision!!!

(me confused after a long time...)

and i really dont do much...it is this little thing that gives out the info
"Follow-up comments will be sent to"

I just connect the dots thru memory...that I have no control over :)

Pavi!!!! said...

@Ceedy : LOL! yayeee..i confused u ;-)
n no way is that a derision! compliment..hmm..yeah u cld consider it as one :)
"Follow up comments will be sent to...." ??????I didn't get that!! R u mailing me sumthing???

ceedy said...

@pavi...

well compliments like this means I am a nosy character...so lets just leave...

as long as its not derision...

*Follow-up comments will be sent to* this is the little box that we click to get the emails when the comments are updated...right...
well the one abt your bday popped up when you posted it on solitaire....from dec...and I just happen to remember vaguely the conversation and so the follow up.....

that way so many peoples mood can be charted out based on their comments in different blogs...

and please dont wonder if i have nothing better to do.....actually I dont :P

Pavi!!!! said...

@Ceedy.. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i don't think ur nosy AT ALL! n i promise i'm not patronizing !
oh, so u get all the comments on ur email as well? Even i do;-)
Hhaha....i have things to do at work, but of crse just don't feel like it!Think I'm gonna be thrown out of work soon @ this rate ;-)

ceedy said...

@pavi....

see this is what happens when you call 1-800-udevils....

bantering....:)

dont worry.....work will happen in between blogging not the other way around....:)

I believe that comments are and should be always welcome no matter if they are flattering or critical. Why dont we give to others sthe freedom to say what they want, a fundamental right of all citizens in a democracy. Why keep your blog confined to a small coterie of doting buddies, a kind of secret society. Be open and take criticism in the right spirit. Let's not be too touchy.
NB I too disapprove of anonymous comments which show that the author has no guts tso announce his identity andis taking cover under anonymity. To that extent i concede u have apoint.

Pavi!!!! said...

@Vasanth : Good or bad comments are alwez welcome as long as they are about the post. No one has the right to comment on the author or make judgements on people is what i was trying to say.
