Bookish thoughts

Been tagged.
Tag Rules
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge the person who tagged you.

Found the 5th sentence n the next 3 sentences are: Kinnard said with equal sarcasm, “Have a nice life.” He threw his car into reverse, shot backwards and skidded to a stop. Then he put the engine in drive and tromped on the accelerator.

Those are the lamest 3 sentences! Anywez..wanna guess which book?

N yeah since almost every1 has done this tag over the weekend, I’m not taggin any1.

Talking about books…Would you rather read a story in a book or see a story as a movie?

Personally I’d rather read a book:
It leaves something to the imagination. I mean, the complete visualization is left to ones imagination. The place, the characters all of it!
N a movie lasts just 2.5 hrs. A book definitely lasts longer. There are so many more pgs
A book is more descriptive.

Da vinci Code book was 100 times better than the movie.

Well..I cld go on n on…u tell me wat u like more? n mabbe even egs of books/movies?

*********************************
BTW , I’m Jealous of all u who are studying n writin xams! I miss those days - combined studies n sleepless nites n maggi during all hrs n the tension n random laughter n the celebration once the xams are over! I miss it all!

I know the grass is greener on the other side!Anywez Good Luck to all of u writing exams or ur thesis!

aww.. gee, thanks. :)
also, i have a rule. i never watch the movie if i haven't read the book. helps a lot when it comes to crappy movies that have no semblance of the book in them. at least you're satisfied you know how it should have been. :)

Thank you Pavi for the good luck wishes. Need them!!

BTW, there are no celebrations here cos we have SO many exams all the time that its almost a daily routine.

No laughter too thanks to horrible roommate.

And ya..I love reading books over watching movies. But I have heard that Sex and the City is NOT a good book at all..and that the series is much much better!

It depends on the book/movie.. but as u say. I'd prefer to read the book.. it gives a totally different pleasure to turn the pages..

There are a few examples of movies based on books that turned out pretty good...
Lord of the Rings(series), movies based on John Grisham books, all the Bourne movies, and a few others.

But overall, I agree with you, books are sooo much better, when you compare them with movies based on the books.

"kinnard said with equal sarcasm". means someone already said something with some sarcasm. n it looks like it's a woman....

this is the power of books. leaves a lot for our imagination.

not many good books turn into good movies.. i would prefer to read a book even if the movie is good :)
The book belongs to you only.. movie belongs to the whole world.. weird.. but thats how i see it :)

First I read the book then I will watch the movie. But most of the times movies didnt impress me as boods did. Harry potter, davinci code..etc.
But, I loved Narnia sequel.
